Homosexuality remains illegal in more than 70 countries, with penalties ranging from imprisonment to death. That's why it's so important to build a platform and celebrate those who are out, proud and successful now, regardless of the penalty.

The World Pride Power List will be widely publicised to ensure participation from all four corners of the globe to so that no-one who is a positive role model and fighting for equal rights is forgotten.

After receiving the nominations the list will be adjudicated by a panel of esteemed judges who will come up with the final rankings.

The list will be published in an exclusive Guardian supplement on the day of the London's Pride parade, Saturday 29th June, with a celebration breakfast at London’s exclusive Home House.

The World Pride Power List will be compiled by Square Peg Media, the leading diversity publishing and events company in the UK, in association with The Guardian newspaper."

Comment by glamity58 on Monday: Such a great day to be a Glambert! I was very proud of Adam getting two awards. I told Glaad on their website that their trophies were much classier than grammy trophies! I think they were snazzy and more elegant. Nonetheless, Adam deserves to win a grammy (I don't capitalize it for a reason) some day. Can't wait for this week and what is coming from Adam. I can't imagine what he'll do on IDOL. Then we have Germany and China again. I will try and stream his music when I go to sleep tonight.

Would love it to hold and then see what happens next week when Adam and Angie do a duet! Tomorrow we have the Glaad awards! So amazing! Adam is getting this meaningful award and it is so deserved. Can't wait to see him receive it! I also cannot wait for the Life Ball to see Adam as Ali Baba saying "Open Sesame" and singing the new Life Ball Song that he wrote on!!
