When it comes to the album you will be able to gift and donate and those sales,once they are downloaded by the organizations and/or people you are sending to, will count on the iTunes chart and as sales. You can also gift singles, but only do that when you know the person you are sending to will download it so it will chart at iTunes and count as a sale.  I know to some this is confusing, but you have to think in terms of two different charts going on. The actual Sales charts and the site's chart like iTunes, Amazon. They have their own rules in place as to how they chart a song or album. Always remember when buying multiples. They all count toward billboard charting as Sales!!!

Carly all sales on itunes count toward charting to billboard, but only the 1st sale counts toward charting at iTunes. Sales are sales, but for itunes charting purposes they only count the 1st purchase!! I hope that is clear for you now. We want Adam's single and Album to be at the top of the billboard charts. to me that is #1, but we also want him to rate high on the iTunes chart. We just need more people downloading to get Adam on the iTunes chart. But if you multiple buy at iTunes all your sales will be reported for charting on Billboard. They are actual sales!!!

a little confused about sales vs. charting on itunes. i guess u r saying lindajean that the multiple sales will still count (towards billboard and other charting #'s? which need to be based on sales, don't they --or not? or the multiple itunes sales count but only in terms of dollars in/out meaning money in someone's pocket?).  but charting on itunes is a different matter (and how about gifting there? if i buy one but then gift 20, does that count as one -- for the itunes chart??).

confusing myself here. i know how imp't pre-orders are but do they wait until after the first week of sales to chart? i can't remember. bec if so, depending on the price, it might be cheaper to go in and buy the first day or two at an actual store and avoid shipping. plus, i now realize there are people who will not buy anything online bec they are worried about security. boy i hope we get a first week sale :)

Lindajean, I read that in order to make sure your multiple sales count to buy no more than 20 per store and 10 at each online site, especially iTunes. I forget the name of the person from Billboard, but he gave a reply to a question about this n one of the forums. Do you have that. If you don't, let me know and I will send it to you.  I think we need more information about this to inform everyone, including those the gift and donate.  Barbara

In order for it not to count (physical CD's) you'd have to buy several hundred at a time which I don't think anyone will be doing :) iTunes however only charts on iTunes on the first copy you purchase but if you buy multiple copies it still counts as a sale.

Yes, it would be the same as buying something off of Ebay. The sales from Amazon itself counts but when you click on the links for those independent sellers on Amazon those don't count.

i'm sure you guys know this but others may not (wondering what u meant about strategic ordering Oshi) -- but if you buy from an independent vendor (who might be a re-seller) anywhere, the sale will not count -- bec obv it already has, from the first buyer. i don't know how many ppl pay attention to that when they're on amazon for e.g.

Good idea carly.nyc...puts me in mind of impulse buys at registers...merchants know how the mind works...it's in front of you last minute, you like it, you go for it.

Know what you mean about scarce on shelves, as a lot of us do I always look for Adam's CD's ....seeems to be fewer on the shelves and not at the lower prices.

i just posted this link at AO (why do i try . . .) from billboard. since this seems to be functioning as our unofficial sales thread i'll drop it off. all that's important in it (for our purposes) is that there has been an increase in hard copy cd sales (the first in a long time) -- and that sales (i.e., discounting the product) is noted as one of the possible reasons. http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/industry/retail/the-2011-music-sales...

of course it annoys me even more now that FYE and GN are so scarce on the shelves.

I also agree with carly.nyc that links to Amazon as well as Barnes & Noble and any other online places you can gift or donate from should be prominently displayed!!

I agree with carly.nyc...buying will play a big part in getting Adam's sales up.  Anything that will make it easier and "need it now" for the fans to make those purchases is a plus.

lindajean -- what do you think about keeping a link to amazon somewhere above so we can make impulse buys LOL -- especially when there are sales? i know you (i think it was you) posted a link here when there recently was a sale and i sent off a bunch. if we kept the links to each of his products we could keep track of the sales more easily and buy more easily.

Linda, We are definitely going to be throwing a party on Adam Storm the moment Adam's single is released and then when his album is released. We will let everyone know what is planned and hope everyone will come and share these monumental moments here at our Adam Storm, site as well as at Adam Storm on Twitter and Facebook!!

I think lots of people might want to arrange release parties.  Besides missing the shows, I miss being with other fans.  I really enjoyed being with everyone in Sainte-Agathe, where we took over the whole town (there were as many fans as residents).

Linda: I love Seattle. I've spent a lot of time there it's in my top 5 of favorite cities. Maybe an east coast party can be arranged. I know RCAEd said they are going to try and do something about the shipping charges.

I'm really enjoying working with AdamLambertStorm.com preparing for the "Adam Storm" that's coming soon...but not soon enough.  I'm sure you all agree. It's great that we're getting ourselves positioned to "push" Adam's next release as soon as it drops.  I'm needing the love from his next album.
