The pet-friendly philanthropists will reimburse donors for shipping costs for all CD contributions, then pass all proceeds on to the local chapter of the ASPCA.

GIFTING ~ ITUNES/AMAZON


IMPORTANT TO NOTE  Gifting mp3 downloads to Charities is not an option. Hard copies of Adam's CDs can be donated to charities from Amazon or Adam Official.

HOW

  • Open an iTunes Account - You may have more than one iTunes account per computer. Each account needs a different email address. You may use the same credit card.

  • Definition of Sale? Sale = Any Download That Is Charged To Your Credit Card or Pay Pal.

  • In the USA, to count as a sale, you can only download a single once per iTunes account. If you try to download again, you will receive a message that you have already downloaded that song. They are happy to download that song for you again for Free, but guess what? Free does not = sale!!! So, what to do? You want to download songs and iTunes won't let you! Dang!

  • Gifting! Yes, now you start Gifting to folks who....

           * Have an iTunes account in the same country you live in.
           * Are aware that they are receiving a download from you, and will
              download the Gift within a day or two.

  • How many times can you Gift? As many times as possible, to as many people as possible....Consult your bank account and budget!

  • To Gift, go to iTunes and find Adam's singles. Right next to "Buy" is a downward arrow. This is a drop-down menu. Pull the menu down and click on Gift. Follow iTunes directions from there.

  • If you can't afford to purchase a download, there are many who are more than happy to Gift you a copy. You will need to have an email address and an iTunes account.

  • You may want to have Gifting partners from friends in the real world or from Twitter. Gifting Buddies!

The above information applies to the USA. Each country has it's own rules! Some countries may still allow you to download endlessly from your own computer. Experiment!

                                GIFTING MP3's FROM AO


There is a way to gift music from AO. This works better and it is easier than iTunes because you can donate to anyone around the world whereas with iTunes you can only gift within your own country.

Purchase the song/CD as normal. Stop when you get to the point where there is a gray button that says download. Look up to the address in your browser and copy and paste into an email. Email link anywhere in the world. Link is valid until someone hits that gray download button.

Tip: I have found with AO MP3 downloads it works best to click on the manual download link rather than the gray download button. The manual download link is on the same page as the gray download button. It is buried in the text of instructions. You probably won't even know it's a link until you hover your cursor over the text.

This method has worked well for me. I have done this numerous times. Contact me if you wish to experiment before you try it. Also, there is no way for the person receiving the gift to see your contact or billing information.

There are ways to gift to the UK via iTunes. It means the person from the UK needs to sign up in the US store

How do I get the e-mails of the fans who contacted you via twitter that they wanted a copy via ITunes of the single? I have about 30 minutes before I have to go out again....but if you can e-mail me at least 5 e-mail addresses for now I can get those done in the next 30 minutes. When I return  I'll let you know and then you can send me some more to do at that time. Thanks!!

iTunes is not charging me for gifts until people download.

AO downloaded even though I had already bought it in iTunes.

Note - I tried to send BTIKM mp3 on Amazon US to someone in Canada and it won't let her DL it.  I've given her the name of someone on my feed gifting in canada...

I've just pre-ordered 5 copies of Trespassing and gifted them to 1in10 and music can cure...Tomorrow I will be gifting BTIKM to fellow Canadians...Nothing better than giving the gift of Adam's music

Trespassing is #13 on Amazon.com Bestseller list, yay!! Just bought 2 for Music Can Cure and 2 for 1in10. I will also buy from iTunes and Amazon only. AO charges shipping for every album, I can use that shipping charge to buy more on Amazon which has free shipping for purchase of over $25.

Carly, Only AO is giving single free. They must be paying themselves for the single to count toward sales so i would not worry about that. The rest of us will be paying to download single at iTunes and Amazon!!

Linda, we have that information under Method 1 and Method 2. I don't think it would be a good idea to start making lists. Either private  messaging  at Adam Storm or dming on Twitter  is the way to go for people who cannot afford and would like to be gifted BTIKM!!!

I'm going to get my single with my album purchase, but then I'll gift everything else via amazon or itunes. Since I won't be paying extra for mine, as I'd be buying the album any way, I'll just do an extra gift somewhere.  Do we have a list of people who want the song gifted to them?  If not, all my relatives are getting it for Christmas.  Whether they want it or not.  Obviously, I have some crazy relatives.

ok B. i will send you a second email account, and you have my first so send me yours if you want more gifts :) i'll be pretty much off-line, ipad and iphone only, till tomorrow nite. what i was referring to below was the effect of the free download that rca/sony is set to give away with the cd pre-order monday/tues. can those possibly count towards any chart whatsoever? curious about your take. the freebie will  be available same or following day as i remember it, even though the cd is a pre-order for march 20th. i can't imagine they won't cut into sales -- for the normal fan, that is. . . then there's @artistsupporter's give away. that will be far more than 10!

Carly, iTunes rules is that you can only download once. Gifts is a way around it. Gifts do count as sales. I have gifted 3 of the same songs to someone who had already downloaded the song prior to my gifts and each time i gifted and the song was downloaded, my credit card was charged for the 3 gifts. This has to be considered sales. That is all we need to  know. We will know further on Tuesday how many times we can gift to one person. I am trying to get a group of 3 or 4 people to gift and will send 10 gifts to each. This on top of my own downloads to 3 accounts. This is just at iTunes. Working on Amazon, which i think will be the same. i don't think we need to know anything more. just know that Gifts do count as sales and I have a feeling they will also chart at iTunes as well!!

well for  one, it's free -- and billboard's rules do not allow for charting of singles that cost less than 39cents! then, i suppose we have/or have not resolved the issue of what happens if one gifter (in this case sony, or artistsupporter for arguments sake) gifts hundreds or thousands. does each gift count LOL? you'd think someone would get on at official site and clarify.
