I promise this will be my only non-Adam related blog. I wanted to post about something dear to my heart. Harry Potter has been in my life since I was six years old. I remember the first moment my mother picked up the book in Tesco, put it in the trolley and said, 'We'll start this story tonight, Lucy...I heard about it and think it'll be something you'll enjoy.' After that, I remember the situation in which I received all my other Harry Potter books. Two and three came the next Christmas from 'Santa', four the Christmas after from my Auntie Sandra. My parents read the first four to me. The fifth book was the first one I pre-ordered and the first one I read to myself. In the years which followed, the final two books were published and I pre-ordered a purchased them too, eager to find out what Harry's latest adventure was...how it would all end.
The films were different. I remember the first time I saw Harry Potter one in the cinema and being terrified. I don't remember all the other times I saw that one because I saw it about 12 times before it came out on DVD, however you could have got it on video still at that stage. You have to remember that this is the end of an Era...since HP started we have entered a new age of further technology and all that. I remember seeing the others in the cinema, but being older and more mature so not being scared as I was the first time.
Last night ended it all. I went to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 in my local cinema. It was absolutely epic. I cried right through it. I'm so sad it's ending but it was the best playout EVER!
Isn't it ironic how HP ends forever the year I exit my childhood (I'm turning 18 in october). However, as long as I read the books and watch the films, I can be a child forever <3
